On 26th June 2015, Facebook released a tool which adds a rainbow filter to your profile picture. To get started with this tool, simply head over to Facebook’s Celebrate Pride Page (https://www.facebook.com/celebratepride) and you’ll see a preview of your profile picture with a rainbow overlay. If you like the result, click the button ‘use as profile picture’ and just like magic, your profile picture will automatically update.
Facebook released this feature was to celebrate that same-sex marriage is legal in all 50 sates of America.
Facebook wern’t the only people celebrating gay marriage, for example: the CEO of Apple, Tim Cook, tweeted: ‘Today marks a victory for equality, perseverance and love.”. The CEO of Microsoft, Satya Nadella, tweeted: “A historic moment and step forward for quality in America. #LoveWins”. And President Barack Obama tweeted: “Today is a big step in our march toward equality. Gay and Lesbian couples now have the right to marry, just like anyone else. #LoveWins”.
